About Us

Located in Missoula Montana, Crosswinds Recovery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides individuals with structured, supportive, recovery-based housing and outpatient addiction therapy. Our team of professionals supports members of the community returning from addiction, incarceration and treatment to achieve stability in their journey towards long term recovery. Crosswinds currently operates multiple structured recovery houses with a total capacity to serve thirty-eight individuals.

Our Story

Crosswinds began in January 2019 with the vision of ‘helping to reduce barriers for people coming out of incarceration’. Through working to achieve that vision we learned that one of the challenges for people who have experienced incarceration, addiction or treatment is not just obtaining “housing” it is creating community. To us, recovery fosters personal growth, accountability and overcoming the obstacles that have led to this moment,  with a community that shares its struggles and its successes. With this in mind we at Crosswinds set out on the journey to create that community in the heart of Missoula, Montana, our home.

Every one of our staff has had their own experiences and struggles with addiction, incarceration or mental health. We are the community we have set out to influence and grow and it is our dream to become a cornerstone of re-entry and addiction treatment in the Missoula valley and beyond. We have grown to include four structured recovery houses, a state licensed chemical dependency program,  and a vision that looks towards a future where our clients become our family and become the next leaders and clinicians of our program. We look forward to welcoming you on this journey we have embarked upon, a journey where you ‘set yourself free’.

Vision Statement - Crosswinds facilitates an environment where people work to redefine their perception of self in order to reach their full potential, naturally influencing the community definition of what it means to be a person who has incarceration, addiction, and mental health history. This is done through offering recovery services, housing, vocational support and advocacy opportunities.
